Bashar Da'as as himself
An Old City native of Jerusalem , Bashar grew up during the first Intifada and soon after, found the theater. Bashar joined The Al Kasaba Theater in Ramallah in 1996 (www.alkasaba.org) and performed in several social and politically conscious plays. Bashar underwent extensive drama training in Amman , Jordan and has traveled throughout Europe with Al Kasaba until he found himself landing in Hollywood in 2000, during the developing months of the second Intifada. Bashar has performed at the Lex Theater as two principals for a play entitled “Convergence”. Bashar has also been featured in a handful of independent films shot in Los Angeles including Alliance , Black and Blue, Tel Aviv as well as being cast as some of those historical-looking characters for shows on the Discovery and History Channels. Bashar's agent sends him on frequent auditions for terrorist roles but Bashar is currently rehearsing an adapted monodrama stage play by the renowned Palestinian novelist, Emile Habiby, entitled “The Pessoptimist”.
